The Global Collection: A Journey Around the World, Carved in Wood
Crossway’s new Global Collection transforms cultural and architectural references from around the world into limited-edition sculptural doors.
A door can do more than separate two spaces. It can create a transition, establish an atmosphere, and become a defining architectural feature.
This idea inspired the Crossway Global Collection: a series of doors influenced by the geometries, landscapes, and craft traditions of different places around the world. Each design uses parametric relief carved into wood to create a surface filled with depth, texture, and movement.
As natural light changes throughout the day, the appearance of each door changes with it. Shadows emphasize the carved relief, transforming a functional surface into a living architectural element.
Seven Designs, Seven Stories
Marrakech reinterprets Moroccan zellige geometry and mashrabiya screens through interlocking patterns of light and shadow.
Ubud transforms Bali’s rice terraces into fluid contour lines that communicate movement and serenity.
Milano combines fluted columns with patterns inspired by Italian marble to create an elegant and timeless composition.
Giza draws from the monumental geometry of ancient Egypt, using stacked forms and deeply carved reliefs.
Santorini reimagines the Greek meander pattern and the simplicity of Cycladic architecture.
Istanbul takes inspiration from Ottoman girih tessellations and Iznik tiles to produce an intricate, expressive surface.
Kyoto interprets the Japanese traditions of kumiko and shoji through a precisely carved lattice with a calm, balanced rhythm.
Sculptural Design with Custom Possibilities
The modules are mirrored and rotated to create continuous compositions, minimizing visible joints and allowing each pattern to move across the entire door.
The collection features doors measuring 80 cm wide, 240 cm high, and 2 cm thick, with reliefs reaching up to 12 mm in depth, natural finishes, and standard hinge systems.
The catalog, however, is only the starting point. Materials, colors, textures, and finishes can be adapted or developed according to the needs of each residential, hospitality, or commercial project.
The Global Collection represents Crossway’s approach: transforming an idea into a precisely manufactured and installed solution.
You dream it. We make it. We install it.
